San Antonio, TX (January 31, 2022) – A pedestrian accident reported in the San Antonio area claimed one person’s life on Sunday morning. Just before 2:20 a.m., on January 30, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed at the scene of a pedestrian crash on Northwest Loop 410.

Reports from authorities show that a gray 2019 Dodge Charger was traveling west on Northwest Loop 410 when it struck a pedestrian. The incident caused delays in the area between Interstate 10 and Fredericksburg Road as crews worked to clear the roadway.

The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. However, the driver did show signs of being impaired. The driver was arrested for DWI.

The incident remains under investigation.
