Fatal Car Accidents in Texas
On average, around 325 people lose their lives every month in motor vehicle accidents across the state of Texas. These accidents are often preventable. However, we see a significant number of fatal crashes occur due to the actions of drivers. In fact, more than 80% of all motor vehicle accidents take place as a result of drivers engaging in reckless, negligent, and malicious actions while operating their vehicles.
Some of the leading causes of collisions that we see in Texas include:
- Drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Drivers who are using their phones to talk or text while operating their vehicles
- Drivers who are speeding
- Failing to yield the right of way
- Running red lights/passing stop signs
When families lose loved ones in auto accidents caused by drivers who are reckless or negligent, they often have legal options available that they can use to recover compensation. Working with a wrongful death lawyer in San Antonio can ensure that your family is better positioned to hold the negligent driver accountable so you can recover.
