San Antonio, TX (March 24, 2022) – One person has lost their life as a result of a bicycle accident in the San Antonio area. At around 10:30 p.m., on March 22, the San Antonio Police Department was notified that an accident on Basse Road required assistance.

A bicyclist was traveling along the Quarry during the evening hours on Basse Road. For unknown reasons, a female was driving a car on the roadway when she lost control due to speeding. As a result, the car went off the road and struck the cyclist. The vehicle then rolled over onto its side.

A woman and six-month-old child in the car were transported to University Hospital for care.

The bicyclist sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
