San Antonio, TX (October 25, 2021) – Two people have lost their lives and several others were left injured following a motor vehicle accident on Sunday evening on the Northwest Side of San Antonio.

At around 11 p.m., on October 24, the San Antonio Police Department was notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Grissom Road.

Reports from the SAPD show that a Volkswagen SUV was traveling east in the 8700 block of Grissom Road when it collided with a Toyota pickup truck that was exiting a Whataburger parking lot near Timber Path. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to roll over. The Toyota then slid approximately 300-feet down the road while on its roof.

The male driver and passenger of the Volkswagen sustained fatal injuries in the accident. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger has been identified as 24-year-old Christopher Matthew Taylor. The driver, 28, has not been identified publicly.

A second passenger in the Volkswagen, the driver of the Toyota, and a passenger were all injured. The three victims were transported to University Hospital in critical condition.

At this time, the police department is investigating the crash.
